SEATTLE WEEKLY: Best Burlesque Performer 2006

GO-GO AMY, a self-described "International Burlesque Sensation, Pin-Up Model, Bombshell, Go-Go Girl, Seamstress, [and] Rock and Roll Housewife," rules this category, riding the recent wave of interest in variety/cabaret performance (see "Best Theatrical Trend," p. 82). Via her Web page, Amy merchandises, among much else, a line of vintage-y cheesecake postcards (shots of her baking, ironing, and knitting play wittily off the "Housewife" theme) that pretty much define the word "fetching."

Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris directors of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Zephyr Song video:

With Zephyr song we wanted to try and do a modern day psychedelic video…We must have auditioned over 100 women and we saw every kind of Dancer and there were some great people but no one really hit the right balance. At the last minute this girl came in (go-go Amy) and she had danced in clubs. She was more of a burlesque dancer then a striper or a go-go dancer and she just had her own brand of movement that wasn’t like anything you’d seen a million times in strip bars.

SF Burlesque and other Sexy Shenanigans: by Kathryn Vercillo

Coming to the end of their national tour, the burlesque / cabaret gals and their comic host, Vincent Drambuie, put on a slight-silly, stunningly-sexy show in the small San Francisco venue. Featuring full-costume, short-skit, in-good-fun stripping by real-bodied women skilled in the art of tease performance, the Glam-O-Rama Girly Show was fun at its finest.

Chico Enterprise-Record
The Night Owl: Enjoying burlesque ladies and freaked out afro-funkateers; By SPENCER K. ROUSE

I knew it was going to be a good night when the house was overfilled by 10 p.m. and the VIP section was sold out...As I watched from the crow's nest, I was immediately taken with their talent. I am referring completely to their stage skills, of course ... well almost entirely. Seriously, all nine or 10 acts were executed well. This is no cheesy strip act. Every number was creative and tantalizing. It was all sweetness and tease with a touch of humor, ending in a quick pastie peek as they scampered off stage.
